Let me introduce myself, my name is Elvira and I just got married August 8, 2008! I would have developed this blog alot sooner but I am just now getting settled into my new life :). I know first-hand how many decisions go into planning your dream wedding, whether you have a planner or are doing-it-yourself (like me) there are alot of decisions--big and small--that enfold into your wedding, which by the way goes by way too fast. My goal is to provide you with resources, tools, tips, and tricks to have your dream wedding within or less then your allotted budget. I wish I had the same advantage of having someone share with me when I was planning my wedding....and since I didnt I thought that I would take it upon myself to share.
So you may be wondering what are my credentials...well I have extensive experience in event planning, I am creative by nature, I am very organized, I am a perfectionist, I planned my entire wedding myself (including designing my dress, decor, menus, etc), and I did alot of research. I was engaged for 1.5 years, which for me was a perfect amount of time to save, plan, and pay for my wedding. During this time, I did an extensive amount of research and found so many great buys, unique products, and creative ideas!
Of course I wont be able to share everything in 1 post, so I'll structure it by topic and provide as much info as possible on each post. Due to work, moving, GMAT prep, and a host of other obligations, I am not sure how often I will post....but I will try to post at least 1 a week. In the meantime if you have a specific question, please ask. Also, if you have any ideas or comments, please feel free to post. Congrats on starting your blog, Elvira! I too, planned my wedding myself and loved every minute of it! That day...really the whole experience was so beautiful and special to me and I re-live it every chance I get! (LOL). It's what jump-started my career in event planning (although it's on hiatus right now, while I'm in grad school). Good luck with your blog and let me know if you ever need a contributor!
